Introduction

Introduction

Marketing is an important function within any organisation. It is a critical business development tool in enhancing the company's mindshare, heart-share and most importantly market share. Today, a company's success depends on its ability to identify and understand customers' needs as well as how well the company is able to exceed the customers' expectations. With info-communication technology (ICT) and changing consumer demands in an increasingly competitive globalised economy, the role of marketing management is expected to be extremely challenging and the demand for marketing professionals will continue to soar.

Dip in Marketing in NYP

The Diploma in Marketing helps students develop critical insights into an organisation's marketing efforts by learning how marketing works. The courses teaches the students to identify and understand how companies can effectively position themselves to create the desired image in the minds of their target customers. Apart from the traditional approaches of marketing such as the marketing mix, students will receive training in emerging areas such as services marketing, integrated marketing communications and brand management.

Another unique aspect of our diploma lies in our Teaching Enterprise Project (TEP). TEP develops practical and lifelong skills in operational business processes. Through the group projects and attachments at the various TEP stopovers, such as Marketing Services Centre, the CRM Call Centre and other client-based project centres, students will be able to hone their interpersonal skills and develop critical thinking and problem solving skills. This will greatly augment their ability to address and resolve issues through citical thinking, analysis and action in future.

To further supplement their learning experiences, students would go through an industrial placement programme which aims to provide them with valuable real-life and professional exposure in the real world of work. Overseas student exchange and industry placement programmes are also available to enhance our students' learning experience and mobility in their future careers.
